Antico Pizza Napoletana

San Gennaro

Salsiccia, Bufala, Cipolline, & Sweet Red Peppers

The ratio of dough to toppings were beautifully balanced, again.

Crisp, airy bubbles along the edges with a nice chew inside… So, we have great texture combined with an even better flavor.  And, a nice touch of smoke adds that something special.

Right down to the very last slice…

This was one deliciously divine pizza …again.

But, don’t forget, they’re closed on Sunday!

Las Brasas — New Location Coming Soon

Las Brasas — Coming Soon

We see a sign for Las Brasas on the side of the building that previously housed Burnt Fork BBQ (Behind McDonald’s at the intersection of Church Street & Commerce Drive).  The sign reads “Las Brasas Peruvian Restaurant & Bar Coming Soon”.  Awesome chicken and a bar?  We’re hopefully optimistic.

Lotus — Bo Nuong Vi

Bò Nướng Vĩ

Bo Nuong Vi
Sizzling Lemongrass Beef & Egg

Seconds before arriving to the table, this egg was cracked onto that sizzling hot platter.  Give it a few seconds or so.  Then, it’s cooked to perfection.  We seriously love this dish.

Love it!

Each gorgeously tender piece of beef has a pink center.

BÒ LÁ LỐP

All time favorite?  Oh, yes.

As expected, this was delicious…. again.

Fresh Lime, Black Pepper, & Salt, Too

Lotus is a restaurant we’ve loved from day one.  And, we still do.

All things spicy and delicious on one pie?  Yes, please!

Good to the last slice…

Scratch that.

This was great to the very last bite.  We devoured every crumb.  And, we’re both craving another one now.  Please make it just like this…

The Real Fix Pizzeria

The Real Fix Pizzeria

The Fifth Avenue

Prosciutto Di Parma, Fresh Mozzarella, Pecorino, Fresh Oregano,
Arugula, & Truffle Oil

We were eager and very hungry.

Gorgeous color and flavor, the crust was lovely with a nice balance of airy fluff and chew.

Really lovely…

copious quanties of arugula, pecorino…

and proscuitto…

So much meltingly tender, buttery proscuitto hides under there on every slice.  We loved each and every bite of it.

The edges and bottom were nice and crisp, too.

Two Fried Pies, Too

The Dough’No

Red Wine Poached Figs, Confit Mushrooms, Goat Cheese, Smoked Mozzarella, & Caramelized Onions

This was an interesting balance of sweet and savory.  Right about now, we were wishing for a bottle of wine.

Terrapin Hi5 IPA

This was pretty ok, too.  But, we’re not a fan of plastic glasses… at all.  And, there’s something particularly unpleasant about the combination of beer and plastic on a warmish day.

Georgia Aquarium — Whale Shark Feeding

Pictures just don’t do this experience justice.  They’re just so close.

Each whale shark gets fed in their own lane.  Sometimes, a manta ray will try to steal a bite or two.  These graceful giants of the sea were saved from the dinner table by Georgia Aquarium.

The choices we make on a daily basis matter.  They really do.  When it’s time to choose your seafood, make your choices wisely.  Eat sustainable seafood.

Looks 3, Taste 10

Sculpin IPA

Sculpin IPA
(Ballast Point Brewing Co.)

This is everything we want in an IPA.  Love, Love, Love it!

(The glass says Ranger.  And, Ranger IPA is quite nice, too.  We remember it vividly.  We’ve had a Ranger or two not that long ago.  But, this was so much better.)

Cuban With Sweet Potato Fries

We love that this pressed sandwich was crisp, flaky at the edges and not at all greasy.

And, that’s smoked pork in there.

Just look at those crispy sweet potato fries.  Win.

Fried Artichoke Hearts

These never get old.  They’re easily one of our top 5 fried things, ever.  We also drank a Mosaic Pale Ale (Pfriem Family Brewers, Oregon)  It was lovely.  Light, crisp and easy.  But, someone couldn’t wait to finish it and order another Sculpin.

Florida Springs

Sally’s

Old school pan grilled pork chops, turnip greens, candied yams, hush puppies and biscuits, it was a simply charming and quite tasty meal.  And, the staff was equally charming.

3 Pigs Pub & Grill

Spare Ribs, Fried Okra, & Potato Salad

The ribs were smoky and quite tasty.  But, they were more than a little chewy.

Fried Catfish Sandwich & Fries

Soft, fluffy bun and fried catfish with a cornmeal breading, on the road this definitely beats fast food.  And, we were out of there in less than an hour.

The Half Shell Oyster Bar & Grill

Fried Oysters & Baked Potato

By far, this was our favorite dish on the road.  These oysters were incredibly sweet, full of flavor and tender on the inside with a thin super crisp corn meal breading.  We loved these.

This was served with a chopped salad with feta.  And, it was topped with a greek style dressing.  It was just the type of salad we were craving.

Grilled Mahi Sandwich & Fries

Fluffy bun, lettuce, tomato and grilled mahi, that’s it.  Nice.

Florida & Fast Food

Sometimes, you just have to take a road trip.

Beer (Redhook) Battered Fish (Cod) Sandwich
(530 Calories)

For fast food, it was really not bad at all.  Lots of fresh iceberg lettuce added a nice layer of crunch.

Natural Cut Fries
(360 Calories For A Small Order)

This batch of fries was fresh out of the fryer.  So, they were actually quite good.

…for fast food fries.

We both find Burger King to have the most disgusting (inedible) of all the fast food fries.  Hot or cold, they’re just downright disgusting.  McDonald’s and Wendy’s make the most edible of the fast food fries.  We’d give these third place in a fast food fry competition. (if they’re fresh out of the fryer, that is.)

Hop Dang Diggity

Hop Dang Diggity
Southern India Pale Ale
(Jekyll Brewing, Georgia)

This one delivers a crisp rush to your senses right up front.  Then, it comes alive with complex flavors that bombard your taste buds with a pleasantly mighty vengeance.  Bitter hops dominate while rich malty goodness rounds out the edges and adds a touch of sweetness in the best way.  Bright, clean pine adds a lovely earthy tingle that lingers in your memory.

We won’t forget about this one.
