Liquid Marijuana
And, A $10 Burger
It’s a pretty decent one, too.
Liquid Marijuana
makes 1
1/2 ounce rum (or spiced rum, if you like)
1/2 ounce Blue Curaçao
1/2 ounce Midori Melon Liqueur
1/2 ounce Malibu rum
big splash sweet & sour mix
big splash pineapple juice
Combine all in a rocks glass and add ice to fill. Then, close your eyes and pretend you’re at Bayside in Miami. Or, maybe you prefer a flashback to spring break and a cruise to the Caribbean? That works, too.
Elegant? No. Sweet fun? Yes.
Mì Quảng
Topped with roasted chicken chunks, roasted peanuts, delicious and crispy shards of black sesame rice crackers…
Chả lụa (or giò lụa, or Vietnamese pork loaf slices), tender shrimp…
And, tucked under those peanuts there’s a glimpse of finely diced deep fried pork. Those crunchy little bites magnify all of the other flavors beautifully.
Quail eggs, too? Two, seriously! This isn’t just a meal it’s a feast in soup form.
Love it!
Do you need another reason to love this genuinely genius bowl of all things delicious? Turmeric rice noodles add just a little something extra. It’s an extremely subtle background flavor. That deep golden turmeric adds an elusive hint of savory goodness layered in there with all it touches.
Did we mention that we love this dish? We did? Oh, well, it deserves repeating.
We love it! Mmhmm, we do.
It’s hidden on the Daily Special page.
As always, a plate full of herbs and sprouts make us happy on a cold winter day.
Bún bò Huế
Bún bò Huế
…You know that song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, or “Wimoweh”?
Well, it’s the same. But, it’s different.
Roughly, it’s boon bo weh.
Now, is that song stuck in your head, too?
My job here is done.

Imperial India Pale Ale
Goose Island Beer Co.
Good balance, full bodied, spicy, complex citrus-y bitter (in a very good way) edge
We both enjoyed every sip. And, we’d buy it again.
2014 favorite? It was definitely one of them.

Liberté Yogurt
Peach & Passion Fruit
Finally, truth in advertising….
We really love this yogurt. It might just be yogurt perfection. If not outright perfection, Liberté comes seriously close to it. The blend of peach and passion fruit balances the sweet with the tart. And, the yogurt itself is incredibly smooth, creamy and rich. It’s a real indulgence that we wouldn’t feel guilty sampling every day.
Love it!!

Traderspoint Creamery Yogurt
Whole Milk, Raspberry, & Wildberry
By far, wild berry was our favorite.
We love the glass jars. Each individual serving comes in its own 5 oz jar. The plastic wrap around the jar was easy to remove. Then, we used these pretty little jars to serve butter and jam for holiday and vacation day breakfast trays.

Soft Shell Crab Po’boy
From the bread to the crispy crab to the nicely spiced drizzle of sauce on top, this was incredibly good. We’re already craving another one.
Fried Shrimp
Better on previous visits, but, these were still quite nice. We appreciate the light handed touch used to apply the breading.

Pork “Wings”
With Carolina Sauce & Onion Rings
The Onion Rings
Served piping hot and super crisp, we loved these. Golden brown, crispy flavorful batter on the outside with tender onion on the inside, these are everything you want an onion ring to be. We wanted to finish every last one of them. But, we just couldn’t do it. Between the two of us, we barely finished half of this very generous serving.
We couldn’t finish two. Four? You’d have to be REALLY hungry.
Fried Artichoke Hearts
One of our all time favorite nibbles, we’re still loving these.
Georgia Sweet Tea
Iced Tea, Whiskey, Agave, Lemon Juice & Plenty of Lemon Slices
The Little John Burger
Look, something green found its way onto his plate. Mhmm, nice try.
Fall off the bone tender, but, we’d go for less sauce next time.

Pumpkin Twist
Yeasty goodness swirled with pumpkin and plenty of spice, it’s a bit like a cinnamon bun with spiced pumpkin filling in for the cinnamon swirl. And, the toasted pumpkin seeds and almond slivers encrust every inch of the top of this tasty treat. We both loved it.
The Chestnut Loaf
Normally, Christmas morning in our house means thick slices of panettone stuffed with loads of candied chestnuts and cappuccino for breakfast. It’s our favorite tradition. This year Christmas rushed into town in a wildly busy haze. So, we forgot to buy our yearly tin. This was a lovely (yet lighter and leaner) substitute. We’d definitely make this substitution again in a pinch. Turkey sandwich material? Oh yeah, the sandwiches were delicious. But, they were a bit on the messy side. Chestnuts, chestnuts everywhere…
Baby Buttons
Stuffed with sweet bean paste, these were devoured posthaste.

Baja Pescado
Beer (Three Taverns Brewery, Prince of Pilsen Pilsner) battered fish, freshly creamed sweet corn with roasted poblano peppers and goat cheese, and a small mountain of jalapeño slaw generously filled both of our plates. Piping hot out of the fryer, the beer batter was crisp, yet delicate and airy light.
