The Cobbe Portrait will be on display at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon starting April 23, 2009 in honor of his birthday.  (The actual date of Shakespeare’s birth is unknown, but, it is traditionally observed on April 23.  Another theory shows his birthday as April 22, 1564.  Shakespeare’s granddaughter Elizabeth Hall married on April 22, 1626 “in honour of her famous relation”.)

The Cobbe Portrait will be on display April 23, 2009 – September 6, 2009.
